Safe and Beautiful Facial Bone Surgery with the Face Dental Clinic
You can have safer surgery with selected anesthetic by assessing patient's condition through pre-surgery examination.
One-on-one individualized anesthesia control during surgery
The safety of the patient is guaranteed through one-on-one individualized anesthesia control from pre-operation to the recovery room where the patient is taken care of until he is stable. After full recovery the patient is moved to a ward.
Light Cable Intubation System
In case where tracheal intubation devices cannot be used because of the patients’ inability to open one’s mouth widely due to temporomandibular disorder etc., Light Cable Intubation System is used to safely anesthetize and operate.
Breathing apparatus & Carbon dioxide measurement system
This device accurately senses respiration state and physiologic changes. Patients’ state can be more precisely monitored with breathing apparatus.
Pressure-sensitive anesthesia equipment
This is an anesthesia equipment that measures the pressure applied to the organ during surgery. Diverse causes can change the pressure applied to the lungs during the surgery. This device senses such changes rapidly so that they are quickly detected and accurately treated in any situation.
Recovery room (a single-bed room)
A recovery room is there to intensively take care of patients after surgery until patients feel stable and secure after they are awake from the anesthetic.
Central monitoring system
Central monitoring system is set up to monitor all patients under surgery in one spot. Central control is added to one-on-one individualized control, thus this double monitoring during surgery leads to much safer surgery.
Uninterruptible Power Supply System
To prepare for power outage, uninterruptible power supply system is established for emergencies.
Patient Controlled Analgesia for Every Patient
PCA(Patient Controlled Analgesia) is used to lessen postoperative pain of patients effectively. This equipment injects a predefined amount of painkiller to a patient in a specified interval and automatically adds the amount depending on the pain intensity. It has a control system, which makes worries about overdose unnecessary.
Defibrillator
Defibrillator is ready for emergency situations.
cricothyrotomy equipment for emergency
For safer surgery, this equipment is there to secure free airway through mergencycricothyroid membrane between cricoid cartilage and the thyroid cartilage for emergencies.
Is there any chance of waking up during surgery?
In the past, there were cases where patients could feel pain during surgery because of awareness during general anesthesia caused by insufficiency of anesthesiologist or equipment. But with improvement of anesthetic drugs and equipment and residence of an anesthesiologist, you don’t have to worry about this now.
What if I don’t wake from the anesthetic?
There’s no reason for anxiety with our highly experienced anesthesiologist and surgeon. But slower recovery is possible depending on the patients’ state like general prostration, a cardiac disorder, a lung disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes. We do our best to block such possibility through pre-surgery examination, preparation and consultation.
Is it OK to sleep after surgery?
This phenomenon happens because of remaining anesthetic drugs or insufficient sleep due to tension before surgery. To resolve this, you need to take a deep breath after surgery to emit anesthetic gas remaining in your lung.
Does it hurt after waking from the anesthetic?
We use PCA(Patient Controlled Analgesia) to lessen postoperative pain of patients effectively.
This equipment injects a predefined amount of painkiller to a patient in a specified interval and automatically adds the amount depending on the pain intensity. It has a control system, which makes worries about overdose unnecessary.
From when can I eat after surgery?
Typically, you may drink water after 2 hours in case of hypnoanesthesia, and after 4~6 hours in case of general anesthesia. It takes this amount of time to regain consciousness and show natural physiological phenomenon. You drink water first and if it’s fine you are allowed to gradually eat, starting from liquid food.
Do arms and feet go numb after surgery?
Some patients report of numbness when the anesthesia wears off after surgery.
This is caused by stiff muscles due to the tension during and after surgery. Moving your body slightly is helpful for this.
